We’ve had an enjoyable week with lots happening. The main event was our Wednesday afternoon VE Day celebration with a delicious cake made by Anita, music, singing and looking at the VE Day memory board on which residents had shared what they were doing on VE Day 1945. It was really interesting and provoked a lot of good discussion. We had a craft afternoon in which we made VE decorations which were placed on the tables and around the home.
There was a 
commemoration display for the Coronation anniversary on Monday. We showed an interesting documentary ‘Sheffield at War’.
Residents shared an early celebration for Norman’s birthday at Coffee morning with a lovely home-made chocolate cake courtesy of his daughter-in-law.
After Exercise Morning we showed the Andre Rieu music DVD ‘The Last Rose’. His performances are always appreciated. Other activities included Reminiscence, a Baking afternoon where buns were made for Coffee Morning and a very competitive session of Carpet Bowls. The lovely sunny weather has also seen a good number opting to go in the garden.
