Mike is a Chartered Accountant, educated in Scotland, trained in Manchester and worked in Public Transport (Buses) for 30 years. He has lived in Sheffield since 1974 and was Deputy Chief Executive of Mainline Buses when it was sold in 1998. Since then he has been a company director and is a business advisor. He was a school governor for 26 years and has been a trustee of several trusts and charities. He is married with two grown up boys and three granddaughters. He is a keen golfer, enjoys fly fishing and has been a judge of toy dogs at dog shows.

Alan Anderson is a long serving Consultant Physician / Geriatrician based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. His interests include patient records, multidisciplinary working and turning around doctors in difficulty. He is married with a son and a daughter and four grandchildren.

Amanda has been part of Broomgrove for over 10 years and serves as the Company’s Secretary, overseeing the financial management of the organisation. Born and raised in Sheffield, Amanda has built her career in finance, with extensive experience across both the healthcare and charity sectors. Her knowledge and dedication play an important role in supporting the smooth running and long-term success of Broomgrove. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys Latin and ballroom dancing, has a passion for music, and loves spending time gardening and making memories with her family.

Sarah is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has worked in HR for over 10 years. Sarah currently works as HR Manager for Pacy & Wheatley Construction in Doncaster. Prior to that, Sarah worked at Broomgrove Nursing Home as the HR Manager for 10 years and was thrilled for the opportunity to come on board as Trustee. Sarah lives in Doncaster with her husband and 2 children. She is a self-confessed shopaholic and enjoys open water swimming.

Chris Franklin OBE brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from distinguished careers in healthcare, medical education, and the arts. Chris originally qualified as a dental surgeon before pursuing a hospital career in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Following a Medical Research Council Training Fellowship, he trained as a clinical academic and NHS pathologist, specialising in head and neck disease. His research focused on oral cancer and tumours of the mouth and jaws, contributing significantly to the field. From 1998 to 2013, Chris served as a Postgraduate Dean, playing a key role in postgraduate medical and dental education and supporting the development of future healthcare professionals. Alongside his medical career, Chris is an accomplished watercolour artist whose work has been exhibited and collected both nationally and internationally. His passion for creativity complements his lifelong commitment to education, excellence, and service. As a Trustee of Broomgrove Trust, Chris brings extensive leadership experience, strategic insight, and a commitment to supporting high-quality care and the continued success of the organisation.
