Over the last few weeks, alongside board games, bingo, Scruples discussion and our other regular activities we have had our monthly activities: yoga, poetry morning with an animal theme and a visit from the nursery children. The children brought some books to read, sang some songs and did some colouring. Everybody enjoyed their visit, and the children were given some pebbles that had been painted by the residents. The nursery is going to make a pebble garden. We have also done some paint pouring and in Art afternoon the residents painted some biscuits.
It was the Olympics, and we put on some Olympic Active Games. In one Active Games we played bowls and it got quite competitive.
We celebrated Yorkshire Day, showing a documentary of Yorkshire villages and then had a quiz with sundry facts in the afternoon as well as singing ‘On Ilkley Moor Baar Tat’
We had the themes of ‘Water Music’ and ‘Summertime’ in music club and Brendas’s choice of music went down particularly well. In our most recent Coffee Morning we celebrated Shirley’s birthday.
