Management Team

Judy Warburton
Registered Manager

Judy trained as a Nurse in 1974 in the North-East, then came to Sheffield to further her training as a Children’s Nurse.

Following the birth of her children she worked in the private sector at Claremont Hospital where she gained a wealth of experience and knowledge, which she brought to her role at Broomgrove. Judy has been with us since 2004, moving from Sister to Team Leader and now to her current role as Registered Manager.

Judy enjoys cooking, reading, walking, and listening to music. She comes from a large family and makes sure they keep in touch, organising days out, parties and taking her grandchildren on trips.

Janet Biggin
Clinical Nurse Manager

Janet has been at Broomgrove for over 16 years, she originally came to us as a Senior Sister and has progressed to Clinical Nurse Manager. Janet is responsible for standards of care within the home and supports the nurses to ensure we maintain excellent nursing practice.

Janet qualified as a State Registered Nurse in London in 1968 and went on to be a ward sister at Sheffield’s Nether Edge Hospital for 10 years. In 1996 she moved to the private sector and was a Nursing Home Manager for 8 years before becoming Regional Manager. She has extensive experience in care of the elderly.

Janet enjoys shopping and being glamorous. She has a very busy social life and is married to a Derbyshire farmer. She has a grown-up family and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

Tracie Smithurst
Clinical Nurse Manager

We would like to welcome Tracie as our new Clinical Nurse Manager who will be working alongside Janet.

Tracie is a very experienced nurse, having been in the profession for almost 40 years. Her experience has largely been in the acute sector, working in a private hospital in Dusseldorf in Germany for almost 30 years, covering all aspects of surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics in her role as Matron. She is UK trained.

Since returning to the UK 6 years ago she has discovered a new passion for elderly care and is committed and dedicated to providing our residents with the highest standards of loving nursing practice, by being a role model and mentor for our team. She has worked at all different levels of the care home setting, including management, for a year so arrives well equipped to fit in to our team at Broomgrove.

Tracie is married and lives in Worksop and enjoys cooking and baking and walks in nature settings.

Anita’s high standards, exceptional food and professional presentation has earned Broomgrove a five star rating from Sheffield Environmental Health which is the highest rating.

Nothing is ever too much trouble for Anita and she spends a lot of time with the residents ensuring that meal times are a highlight of the day.

In her spare time Anita likes walking in the beautiful countryside of nearby Derbyshire.

Rares Marian Haiduc
Human Resources Manager

My home country is Cluj-Napoca (Transylvania) in Romania. I worked as a jewellery store manager and after getting married and beginning a new adventure, I relocated to the UK in 2013.

My career in the UK began as a train steward on the mainline to London here in Sheffield. I progressed to Inspector and assisted the company to move from a paper based to electronic system. The covid pandemic represented, as for many others, an opportunity to change careers. In 2020 I joined one of the biggest warehouse operations in Europe.

In my first year I tried different departments until I entered the HR Department and realized this was where I felt my future career lay. I am always eager to learn and improve my skills, so I began the CIPD Level 5 Diploma in People Management before starting at Broomgrove in 2022. I enjoy working with people, being available for everyone who needs help and coming up with new and creative ways to make the workplace better.

I have a wonderful wife, two adorable boys, and I love watching movies with them. My other passions include cooking and gardening.

Jude Kirbyshaw
Administrator

Jude joined Broomgrove in 2022. Prior to Broomgrove, she worked as a Teaching Assistant in a local Junior school. Jude was born and bred in Sheffield and lives within walking distance of Broomgrove. She enjoys the hustle and bustle of the shops and bars in the local area, whilst also enjoying the parks and local countryside surrounding our city.

Yasmin Fazal
Administrator

Yasmin joined Broomgrove in 2022. Yasmin has worked in property management for over 20 years and enjoys reading and music, her favourite pass-times are shopping and eating out.

My mother, who died recently, lived at Broomgrove for the final three and a half years of her life. She had moved house only once before, over 90 years previously, but she quickly felt at home in Broomgrove. Because Broomgrove offers nursing care, my mother was glad to know that she would be unlikely to need a further move. It was also reassuring to know that Broomgrove is an independent, well established, local charitable Trust.
Broomgrove provides exceptionally good care and an amazing programme of activities and social events. My mother especially enjoyed Broomgrove’s lovely sheltered garden – one of the many features of Broomgrove that make it ‘home’ rather than ‘A Home’. For residents and their family and friends, Broomgrove removes the worry of day to day care and makes spending time with loved ones a real pleasure. We all felt – and will always feel - part of Broomgrove’s extended ‘family’ and we are so grateful to all the staff, management and trustees.

Frances S (Daughter of Resident) Testimonial

My aunt has been a resident at Broomgrove for nearly ten years and whilst she has many challenges physically, her intellect is as sharp as ever. She's always felt totally at home at Broomgrove. I visit her regularly and she's always full of praise for the care and professionalism of the staff. The home always has a relaxed and happy vibe and the staff always go the extra mile to ensure she's as comfortable as possible.
